I believe that historical sights should be accessible to all because of the following reasons.
Currently many people are actually not aware of their own historical and ancestral identities. When I was talking to a friend of mine a few days ago, I was surprised to find that she actually knew hardly anything about the modern Chinese history, including the WWII and cultural revolution. By visiting historical sights, say the World War II memorial, they can have a deeper understanding of our country' s history and their own identities.
For most people without higher education, historical sights are a better source of knowledge than those difficult textbooks. Because humans are visual animals, by looking at the relics of our heroes and ancestors, they can have a direct understanding of history.
