Describe a toy you got in your childhood童年玩具。这应该算是一道非常高频的话题了,2018年上半年的老题,后来经过改编,如今有出现在本次雅思口语考试中。该范文,我从网络上整理了两篇,供烤鸭分享。

You should say:

What it was

When you got it

How you got it

And explain how you felt about it

雅思口语范文1:

I’m going to talk about a bicycle which I rode pretty frequently before. Its look was different from the common bicycles we saw in the street. Well…it had four wheels, the two were big and the other were smaller that could maintain balance when I was riding. So it was quietly easy to learn, even without any helps. And I used to ride on it to have lots of fun with my childhood friends, who all had the same type bicycles.

Actually I got it at about 8 years old when I was in primary school. It was a Sunday in summer vacation. One of my friends, whose name is …um sorry, I can’t remember his full name. He just came to my house and invited me to play in the park, where was in the vicinity of my home. And he rode a red bicycle with four wheels like I mentioned before. It looked pretty cool. When we got to the park, he taught me how to ride bicycle, which gave me a lot of joy. So I owned it a few days later.

How I got it…um… I told my father that riding bicycle was relaxing and amazing. My father is the sweetest person I know. Every time I revealed to him that I need something, he buys it for me. That’s why when I said I was short of a bicycle, he bought it shortly after.

Anyway, I really enjoyed riding the bicycle.

雅思口语范文2:

I have a set of Lego building blocks with 120 pieces in a variety of colors, which are made of special plastic. The pieces could be assembled to create models of almost anything imaginable. I still remember that I did build cars, castles and even working robots with those Lego bricks. Actually, it’s a birthday present from my uncle on my 6th birthday. I guess he bought it in America since he went on a business trip to New York before my birthday and also there were no Lego shops here in China at that time. For my age, it was really a unique toy for children and I hadn’t seen it before. It was so eye-catching and wonderfully made.

You can imagine how excited I was and how much I liked it. I was the first of my friends to get one, and I think they were all really envious. Honestly, I always invited my friends to join me when I was trying some different models for fun. The set was produced by the LEGO Group, a privately-held company based in Denmark, and interestingly, "LEGO" can be loosely interpreted as "I put together" or "I assemble" in Latin. The idea of using plastic pieces originated from the traditional wooden blocks, as the wooden blocks could only be stacked upon one another. My set of building blocks was an up-to-date one with hollow tubes on the underside, which could be stuck with a better locking ability. It was not until 1958 that the modern-day brick design was developed. Nowadays, the products are still improving and developing with more fresh ideas and market demands, they even created Lego play sets with movie characters.

雅思口语范文Part3:

What kinds of toys are popular for young people today?

Today's children have no interest in the traditional toys. They like iPAD and all kinds of the latest electronic equipment. The elder guys feel shock that these children can easily play those electronic toys. But when the elder guys were young, they have no chance to play so many electronic toys.

Do you think it’s good for children to play games on ipad?

It can be beneficial for kids to play games on iPad as they could learn how to use electronic devices, and some games can also train their mind and develop their IQ. But being addicted to iPad can be harmful to both their mental health and their body health.

What do you think of giving expensive toys to children?

It is important to let the children know how valuable the toys are and teach them to cherish their toys. But if the kids do not value their toys, the toys will just be wasted.

Compare the toys that children of play now and those 20 or 30 years ago.

20 or 30 years ago, children played with the toys that were cheap and were not electronic devices, such as dolls and model cars. But nowadays, they like iPAD and all kinds of the latest electronic equipment which are more expensive and require high technology.
